Leafveil Terms of Use
Welcome to Leafveil. These Terms of Use form an agreement between you and the provider of the app and related services. Please read them carefully before using the app, especially the terms about accounts, paid services, user content, limitations of liability, and service changes.
1. Scope and Definitions
"App" or "Services" means the novel reading, bookshelf, search, recommendation, chapter browsing, comments, account management, paid content, and related technical services provided through Leafveil.
"User" or "you" means any individual who accesses, registers for, logs in to, or actually uses the App. "User Content" means comments, reviews, avatars, nicknames, issue descriptions, complaints, feedback, and other information that you submit, post, upload, or provide through the App.
2. Acceptance and Updates
By accessing, registering for, logging in to, confirming, purchasing, or continuing to use the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and the Privacy Policy displayed in the App. If you do not agree, you must stop using the App immediately.
We may update these Terms because of laws, regulatory requirements, product features, operational needs, or security requirements. Updated Terms will be displayed in the App. If an update materially affects your rights or obligations, we will provide notice where reasonably practicable by pop-up, page notice, or another appropriate method. Your continued use of the App means that you accept the updated Terms.
3. Eligibility and Minors
You must have the legal capacity required to use the App and must use it in accordance with applicable law. If you are a minor, you must use the App and any paid features with the consent and guidance of a parent or legal guardian.
Parents and legal guardians should supervise a minor's content use, usage time, purchases, and interactions, and are responsible for the minor's use as required by applicable law. If a guardian believes a minor is using the App inappropriately, the guardian may contact us through the in-app feedback channel.
4. Account Registration and Information
Some features may require registration or login. You must provide information that is true, accurate, complete, and current, and update it when it changes. You must not use nicknames, avatars, profiles, or account information that is unlawful, improper, infringing, or misleading.
We may require changes, restrict display, reset, or take other necessary action regarding account information that does not comply with legal requirements, platform governance needs, or valid complaints.
5. Account Security and Third-Party Login
You are responsible for protecting your account, verification codes, passwords, and other login credentials. You must not lend, rent, transfer, sell, or otherwise allow another person to use your account. Actions taken through your account are generally treated as your actions, and you are responsible for losses caused by poor credential management or voluntary authorization of another person.
If you discover that your account has been stolen, impersonated, or otherwise used without authorization, notify us through the in-app feedback channel as soon as possible. If you use Apple, Google, or another third-party account to log in, you must also comply with that third party's rules and authorization requirements.
6. Services and License
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, non-exclusive license to install, access, and use the App on lawful devices.
The App may provide novel chapters, reading history, bookshelf collections, personalized recommendations, rankings, categories, search, comments, memberships, paid content, and other features. The specific features, content scope, display style, and available regions depend on the version actually provided in the App.
7. Submission of User Content
Comments, reviews, feedback, reports, complaints, and other materials that you submit through the App are User Content. You retain the rights you have under applicable law, but you must have the lawful rights needed to submit and authorize use of that content.
To the extent necessary to provide, maintain, display, review, improve, and promote the Services, you grant us a non-exclusive, revocable, royalty-free license to use, copy, store, display, distribute, adapt, and process your User Content within a reasonable scope. This license does not affect your other rights under applicable law.
8. User Content Rules
You must not submit, post, or distribute content that:
- violates laws, regulations, regulatory requirements, public order, or generally accepted standards of conduct;
- infringes another person's copyright, trademark, portrait, privacy, reputation, trade secret, or other legal rights;
- is fraudulent, harassing, abusive, defamatory, hateful, discriminatory, violent, sexual, vulgar, or otherwise disturbing;
- induces minors to make improper purchases, disclose personal information, or engage in dangerous conduct;
- contains advertising, spam, traffic manipulation, malicious links, viruses, or other content that disrupts the Services; or
- impersonates another person, fabricates facts, misleads other users, or harms normal operation of the App.
9. Content Review, Reports, and Enforcement
We may review User Content, account activity, comment interactions, and abnormal access based on laws, platform rules, user complaints, or operational security needs. Review methods may include manual review, technical detection, user report handling, and other reasonable measures.
If content or conduct is suspected of violating rules, we may issue reminders, restrict display, remove content, restrict comments, limit account functions, suspend services, or terminate services as appropriate. If you believe an action was taken in error, you may submit an explanation and supporting materials through the in-app feedback channel.
10. Intellectual Property
The App's software, interface, interaction design, marks, page layout, text, images, audio and video, recommendation logic, data structures, and other content are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.
Unless permitted by law or expressly authorized by us, you must not copy, modify, translate, adapt, rent, sell, distribute, scrape, mirror, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise use the App or its content. Reading content owned by third-party rights holders remains protected by the rights of those holders.
11. Paid Services and Orders
Some chapters, membership benefits, ad-free experiences, virtual items, or other value-added features may require payment. Before purchase, the relevant page will display the product or service name, price, billing period, benefit scope, validity period, restrictions, and other important information.
After you confirm a purchase, the order will be processed according to the displayed information and the rules of the payment channel. Please carefully check the account, item, price, quantity, platform, and benefit description before payment. Issues caused by choosing the wrong account, mistaken purchases, duplicate purchases, or failure to read page explanations will be handled under applicable law and purchase channel rules.
12. Auto-Renewal, Cancellation, and Refunds
If a service includes auto-renewal, the renewal rules, billing time, cancellation path, and reminder method are governed by the purchase page and the rules of the relevant app store or payment channel. You may manage or cancel auto-renewal through the method provided by the purchase channel.
Refunds, order cancellations, benefit expiration, handling of used benefits, and payment disputes are governed by applicable law, purchase page explanations, and payment channel rules. Services purchased through Apple, Google, or another third-party channel usually require you to request refunds or resolve payment issues through that channel.
13. Privacy
We process your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Policy displayed in the App. The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information, and how you may exercise related rights.
Please read and understand the Privacy Policy before using the App. If you do not agree with it, stop using services that involve processing of personal information.
14. Third-Party Services
The App may use third-party login, payment, advertising, analytics, push notification, system components, content distribution, or other third-party services. Those services are provided independently by their respective providers, and their service rules and privacy policies may apply to your use of those services.
We will use reasonable care when selecting third-party services, but we do not make commitments beyond those required by law regarding the continued availability, accuracy, security, or independent conduct of third-party services.
15. Service Updates, Changes, and Interruptions
We may update, upgrade, adjust, suspend, or discontinue parts of the App based on product planning, security maintenance, content adjustments, commercial arrangements, or legal requirements. Some older versions may no longer be usable, and you may need to update the App to receive full services.
Services may be delayed, interrupted, unsynchronized, or partly unavailable because of system maintenance, network failures, device compatibility, third-party service issues, force majeure, regulatory requirements, or other reasonable causes. We will make reasonable efforts to repair or restore the Services.
16. Suspension, Termination, and Account Deletion
If you violate these Terms, the Privacy Policy, in-app rules, or applicable law, or if your conduct may affect service security, content order, transaction security, or another person's legal rights, we may restrict, suspend, or terminate part or all of the Services as appropriate.
You may also request account deletion or stop using the Services through in-app account management or feedback features. After account deletion, account-related data and benefits will be handled according to the Privacy Policy, page notices, applicable law, and actual business rules. Please confirm that you have backed up information you need to retain before deletion.
17. Disclaimers
We will use reasonable efforts to maintain the continuity, security, and accuracy of the Services, but we do not guarantee that the Services will always be uninterrupted, delay-free, error-free, or fully meet all of your needs. You are responsible for assessing and accepting the risks of using the App.
Recommendations, rankings, categories, comments, and other display results in the App may be affected by algorithms, operations, copyright, region, version, network environment, and user behavior. They are not guarantees of content quality, suitability, or results of use.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, losses caused by your breach of these Terms, improper use, poor account security, third-party services, network environment, device issues, or force majeure will be borne by the responsible party under applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. If the law does not allow a limitation to apply, the limitation applies only to the maximum extent permitted by law.
19. User Indemnity
If your breach of these Terms, infringement of another person's rights, submission of unlawful or infringing content, misuse of the Services, or violation of applicable law causes complaints, claims, penalties, losses, or costs to us, other users, or third parties, you must bear the corresponding responsibility under applicable law.
20. In-App Feedback and Pre-Dispute Communication
If you have questions, suggestions, complaints, or disputes about these Terms, your account, orders, content, review actions, privacy, or use of the Services, please first submit them through the in-app feedback channel. To help us process your request, provide account information, relevant pages, order numbers, issue descriptions, and supporting materials where appropriate.
We will review and handle your feedback within a reasonable time. Both parties should first try to resolve disputes through honest, reasonable, and good-faith communication.
21. Validity, Severability, and Entire Agreement
If any term is found invalid, unenforceable, or requiring adjustment, the remaining terms remain effective. The invalid or unenforceable part should be interpreted or replaced, to the extent permitted by law, in a manner closest to the original intent.
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and in-app rules displayed for specific features together form the entire agreement between you and the provider of the App regarding use of the App. If a rule for a specific feature conflicts with these Terms, the specific rule controls only for that feature.
22. Confirmation by Continued Use
Please confirm that you have fully read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. By accessing, logging in to, using, purchasing through, or continuing to use the App, you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them.
