Leafveil Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 7, 2026

Welcome to Leafveil. We take the protection of your personal information seriously. This Policy explains how the provider of the App and related services collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects your personal information, and how you can manage it.

Please read and understand this Policy before using the App. If you do not agree with this Policy, stop using services that involve processing of personal information.

1. Scope

This Policy applies to the novel reading, bookshelf, search, recommendation, chapter browsing, comments, account management, paid content, customer feedback, and related technical services provided through Leafveil.

This Policy does not apply to products or services independently provided by third parties. Third-party services may explain their personal information processing practices through their own privacy policies or rules, which you should read before using them.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on the features you use, we collect the following types of information within a lawful, proper, and necessary scope:

3. Device Permissions

To provide specific features, the App may request system permissions after obtaining your authorization. Permission names may differ by system, version, and device, and the actual system prompt controls.

Refusing or disabling a permission may make the related feature unavailable, but usually does not affect basic reading functions.

4. How We Use Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

5. Personalized Recommendations and Advertising

We may use your reading history, search history, collections, clicks, comments, device information, and usage habits to provide content recommendations, rankings, advertising, or activity recommendations.

If the App provides controls for personalized recommendations or advertising, you may manage them in the App or system settings. After personalization is disabled, you may still see recommendations or ads, but they may be less relevant.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

On web pages, activity pages, embedded pages, or related services, we may use cookies, cache, local storage, SDK identifiers, or similar technologies for login status, preference records, analytics, security risk control, and service improvement.

You may manage some of these technologies through browser or system settings, but disabling them may affect page display, login status, or some features.

7. Sharing, Transfer, and Public Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. To provide services or achieve necessary purposes, we may share necessary information in the following situations:

We require partners to process personal information according to this Policy, contractual obligations, and applicable law, and to take necessary security measures.

8. Third-Party SDKs and Services

The App may use third-party SDKs or services for login, payment, advertising, analytics, push notifications, crash analysis, content loading, security verification, or system capability support. Third-party SDKs may collect device information, network information, log information, advertising identifiers, or transaction verification information as needed for their functions.

We use reasonable care when evaluating third-party services and require them to process information only within the scope necessary for their functions. The specific processing rules of third-party services are governed by their displayed privacy policies or service rules.

8.1 Android Push Notifications: JPush

Our Android app integrates JPush, provided by Shenzhen Hexun Huagu Information Technology Co., Ltd. (深圳市和讯华谷信息技术有限公司), to send service notifications, reading reminders and activity messages, identify recipient devices, maintain push connections, measure delivery and diagnose failures. The SDK processes information through its integration in the App.

Depending on the device, operating system and permissions, information processed includes device identifiers (such as Android ID, GAID, OAID, UAID, AAID and Boot ID), the JPush Registration ID, device model, manufacturer, screen resolution, storage capacity, operating system version and language, app package name and version, network type, carrier, IP address, DHCP, Wi-Fi status, push messages, delivery records and operational logs. Available fields depend on system restrictions and SDK configuration.

The current push integration does not request location, phone-state or access-to-all-apps-list permissions, and does not enable geofencing or app-list-based audience segmentation.

JPush privacy policy: https://www.jiguang.cn/license/privacy.

To send notifications to selected accounts, we associate your account ID with the device Registration ID after sign-in. An account may be linked to multiple devices. The App requests removal of the association after sign-out or withdrawal of privacy consent and retries when connectivity returns if offline. Bindings not updated for more than 30 days are excluded from account-targeted notifications.

8.2 Android FCM Delivery Channel

On Android devices supporting Google Play services, we use Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) as a delivery channel for JPush. Google processes Firebase installation identifiers, FCM registration tokens, app and device information, IP addresses and data needed to transmit messages for device registration, routing and service operation. JPush receives the FCM registration token to deliver messages to that device. Information may be processed on Google infrastructure outside your country or region, subject to Google's disclosures and applicable legal requirements.

Service information: Firebase Privacy and Security; privacy policy: Google Privacy Policy.

8.3 Notification Permission and Controls

On Android 13 and later, we request system notification permission when you first enter the App. We do not request it again if already granted or repeatedly on each launch after refusal. System notification permission is managed separately from privacy consent. The App calls JPush initialization and enables FCM automatic initialization after you agree to this Policy.

You can allow or disable notifications in system Settings — Apps — this App — Notifications. Refusing or disabling notifications does not affect basic reading. Disabling system notifications does not itself stop SDK network connections or delete existing registration identifiers. For access, deletion or consent-withdrawal requests, use the feedback and contact channels listed in this Policy.

9. Storage and Retention

We retain your personal information only for the period necessary to achieve the purposes described in this Policy. After the necessary period expires, we will delete, anonymize, or otherwise reasonably process the information according to applicable law and business needs.

Different types of information may have different retention periods. For example, account information is usually retained while the account exists; order and transaction records may be retained longer for accounting, tax, dispute handling, or compliance reasons; log information is usually retained only for security, troubleshooting, and compliance needs.

10. Information Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including access control, encrypted transmission, permission management, log audits, security monitoring, and personnel management.

The internet is not absolutely secure. If a personal information security incident occurs, we will take remedial measures as required by applicable law and, where necessary, notify you through in-app notices, pop-ups, announcements, or other appropriate methods.

11. Your Rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you may exercise the following rights through in-app account management or feedback channels:

To protect account and information security, we may need to verify your identity before processing a request. Some information may not be deleted or changed immediately because of laws, transaction security, dispute handling, or technical reasons.

12. Protection of Minors

We care about the protection of minors' personal information. Minors should use the App with the consent and guidance of a parent or legal guardian. Guardians should help minors understand this Policy and the Terms of Use, and supervise their use, interactions, and purchases.

If a guardian discovers that a minor has provided personal information without consent, or wishes to access, correct, or delete information relating to a minor, the guardian may contact us through the in-app feedback channel.

13. Cross-Border Processing

To provide services, technical support, data backup, content distribution, payment verification, or security risk control, your information may be processed on servers or service nodes outside your region. We will take necessary measures as required by applicable law to provide reasonable protection for your personal information.

14. Account Deletion and Data Processing

You may request account deletion through in-app account management or feedback channels. After account deletion, we will stop providing services for that account and delete or anonymize related personal information according to the Privacy Policy, page notices, applicable law, and actual business rules.

Account deletion may make reading history, bookshelf data, comments, membership benefits, virtual benefits, and other account data unrecoverable. Please confirm carefully before submitting a request.

15. Policy Updates

We may update this Policy because of laws, regulatory requirements, service features, data processing methods, or security management needs. Updated policies will be displayed in the App. If an update materially affects your rights, we will provide notice where reasonably practicable by pop-up, page notice, or another appropriate method.

Your continued use of the App means that you have read and accepted the updated Privacy Policy.

16. Contact and Feedback

If you have questions, suggestions, complaints, or requests about this Policy or personal information protection, please submit them through the feedback channel provided in the App. To help us process your request, include account information, relevant pages, issue descriptions, and supporting materials where appropriate.
